Antimony observatory is available for bespoke night-time tours (2-5 pax) of 1.5-2 hours duration. Content will be tailored to individual's requirements. All visitors receive high quality digital astrophotographs incorporating data taken during the tour.
To get the best experience from the dark skies here, tours are normally scheduled to start at 6.30pm in the winter, 8pm in the spring/autumn (no daylight saving) and at 9.30-11pm during daylight saving. Tours are best during the 2.5 weeks of the 28-day lunar cycle when the moon is below the horizon in the evening (new moon, last quarter) or when the moon is less than 30% illuminated. Please refer to the alamanac gallery/2025 astrocalander.jpg for the best dates.
Copies of all deep sky images are also available on request. The images can be printed at any size (up to 110 x 70cm) on metal with a float mount and are ready to hang.
Costs for the full night time and telescope tour are:
2 pax (minimum) $700
3 pax $900
4 pax $1000
5 pax $1100
A daytime visit incoporating all the events listed about, but without the telescope imaging, is currently under development using a converted 40ft ex-refrigerated container. Using a bank of 6 x Samsung Frame TVs displaying astronomical images from the telescope I will take guests on a tour of the Universe.
Costs for an hour will be as follows:
2 pax (minimum) $350
3 pax $450
4 pax $500
5 pax $550
6 pax $600
