Directions to Antimony

The Observatory is located in the centre of the Kawarau Gibbston Dark Sky Park, nestled between the light domes of Queenstwon and Cromwell.

 

The entrance to the observatory site is on State Highway 6 appoximately east of the Kinross entrance and opposite the entrance to The Church cellar door.  The entrance is marked with a small "Sb" sign - the periodic table entry for Antimony.  Guest arriving by car are asked to park between the wine barrels as indicated on the map below and take the short walk along the vineyard headland to the observatory.

 

Note that Antimony is a working observatory on an off-grid site. Non-astronomical services are limited.  Guests are encouraged to visit any of the local cellar doors for excellent food and wine.  Antimony has a particularly close relationship to Kinross cellar door, and wines produced with grapes from Antimony's vineyards are available there. Kinross visitors are also welcome to take the short walk/bike ride up the hill as indicated.
